Star Awards
Star Awards are handed out every Friday during our Star Award assembly. This is a time of celebration, when the school comes together to celebrate children who have been successful in their learning.
The following prizes are awarded:
Star Work
Teachers and teaching staff choose children who have been successful in their learning. Children celebrate by sharing their learning with the whole school. Learning might be in the form of a piece of writing, a maths problem, a science investigation, a piece of artwork or a book to celebrate reading. Photos have also been used to share successful learning in PE and the wider curriculum. Nothing is off limits!
Value Trophy
Each week, school celebrates one of our values – respect, curiosity, perseverance, collaboration and forgiveness. A trophy is handed to the child who has demonstrated the value of the week. The child gets to keep the trophy on their table for the following week as a celebration of their success.
Learning Gem Certificate
Every week, a child is awarded a gem certificate. Our school gems support us with our learning behaviours. For example, diamond power enables us to solve our own problems, which in turn supports us in being successful in our learning.
Attendance Award
To finish off our Star Award assembly, Attendance Ted is awarded to the class with the highest attendance for the week. Attendance Ted is keen to be a doctor when he is older, which is why he is in school on time, every day!
