    School Times

School starts at 8:45 am in the morning and the register is taken at 9:00 am.  It is encouraged that children get to school for 8:45 am for a morning activity. Registration is completed promptly ready for the school day to begin with assembly and lessons.

If your child arrives late to school, they must be taken to the main reception entrance door. Parents are required to register their child as late which records the child’s name and the reason for late arrival at school. This information is also recorded in the register.

The school has an attendance policy which is published on the school website. We also have an ‘Attending School’ leaflet which is distributed to all new families during the induction period.

The school day finishes at 3.15 pm. Children are not allowed to leave until they are collected by their parent/carer unless other arrangements have been made. You must inform your child’s class teacher in advance if your child is to be collected by any other adult. In order to safeguard children, authorised adults MUST be identified on the data sheet and know the password for that child. If we do not have authorisation, your child will not be allowed to leave school with that adult.

It is important that children are collected on time at 3.15 pm.

The children are in school for 32.5 hours a week.  This time is taken up with registration, assemblies and playtimes.

  • Extension of Age Range to the Nursery

    Published 07/02/24

Hatherley Infant School is a community school in the process of converting to an academy. The school caters for children aged 4-7 and has a nursery within the school grounds. However, pupils at the nursery are not currently on the school roll. If agreed, following consultation, this will enable the nursery to be integrated during the academy conversion process to avoid them remaining a separate entity from the school and enable the nursery to continue.
